J. Elaine Procter
Elaine Procter has practiced law in Fort Collins since earning her law degree from the University of Denver in 1989. In her twenty years of legal practice, she has had experience in all areas of estate planning, special needs and disabiity trusts, probate administration, guardianships and conservatorships, elder law and Medicaid plannning. Elaine's practice now focuses on helping the elderly and the disabled.
Elaine was raised in a small town near Tulsa, Oklahoma. She had the opportunity to move to Colorado in 1975 when Eastman Kodak Company recruited her to work for them in Windsor as an industrial designer. Elaine also worked nine years with Hewlett-Packard Company in various marketing, facilities and management positions at their Fort Collins facility. Elaine holds an associate degree in Industrial Design from Northeastern Oklahoma College and a bachelor of science degree in Industrial Technology from Colorado State University.
Elaine is passionate about giving back to the community. She has served many non-profit organizations as either a volunteer or as a director, including Alternatives to Violence, Elderhaus Adult Day Care, Court Appointed Special Advocates, Long Term Care Ombudsman, Zonta International, and Junior Achievement.
Elaine is a member of the Trust and Estates and Elder Law Sections of the Colorado Bar Association, and the Larimer County Bar Association. She frequently speaks on elder law issues in the community.
Elaine and her husband have two children and four grandchildren. They both enjoy travel and had the opportunity to live in Germany for two years where they traveled thoughout Europe. They also spend time in Summit County where they hike, bike, ski and volunteer as ambassadors at Copper Mountain ski resort.
