Elder law encompasses many different areas of law, and requires elder law attorneys to be familiar with many issues of interest to seniors. Practitioners in this field plan, educate, counsel, and advocate on behalf of seniors and their families on a wide variety of topics including estate planning, planning for long term care, public benefits such as Medicare and Medicaid, disability trusts, guardianships and conservatorships. Individuals with small or moderate estates are often vulnerable to individuals or companies that market products and services to the elderly. Although we support our client's individual right to make their own informed financial choices, we also assist them with dignity when addressing issues of overreaching and fraud.

Our work with the elderly and disabled brings more to our practice than expertise in a certain area of law. Our understanding of the physical and mental difficulties that often afflict the older or disabled client allows us to more accurately empathize with that client as we deal with their real life legal problems. We also can help to connect you to a network of social workers, case managers, and other elder care professionals who may be able to assist you with non-legal issues.
